The magic of theater doesn’t just happen. It costs $96,000 to produce an entire season and approximately $18,000 to produce each show. We need your help. 1st Stage strives to bring diverse, quality productions to the Tysons area, and we can’t do that without you. Join your neighbors in making a contribution that will help us continue to bring “stunning” and “riveting” productions to the incredible community.
Celebration of Quin’s Life
1st Stage Artistic Associate and designer, Kathryn Kawecki, and her wife Caroline Mulcahy lost their son, Quin, after a sudden and severe onset of preeclampsia in the 33rd week of pregnancy. The family wishes to honor his life at the place that has become an artistic home for Kathryn, where she loves creating a world of stories that open people’s hearts and minds. Quin may never have the chance to see one of those stories onstage, but he will be remembered with every story Kathryn helps reveal.
General Operating Fund
Make a donation that will help 1st Stage in the crucial day-to-day operations of our theater. It costs more than you think to keep the lights on, the software updated, the materials maintained… on and on the list goes. Your generous support is integral to our success. Help us with the essential support we need as we build and strengthen a theater community right here in Tysons Corner. All donations are fully tax deductible.
In Memory of Kate Levy
1st Stage’s new Artistic Director, Alex, his wife, Kate, and their son, Augie, moved to Virginia in September 2014 to help continue the creation of a special theater community here at 1st Stage. In November of 2014, Kate was killed in a car accident while visiting family in Michigan. Donations to Kate’s Memorial Square will endow a square foot of the theater in Kate’s memory for the lifetime of their son, Augie. Kate would want Augie to know, as he grows up in the theater, that she is with him always. Give a gift that will ensure Kate will always be a part of the work done here at 1st Stage. Thank you for keeping the Levy family in your heart.
Mark Krikstan Square Foot
1st Stage’s Founding Artistic Director, Mark Krikstan, worked tirelessly to build an artistic oasis in Tysons. He brought together a loyal community and touched many lives along the way. His vision shaped an organization that has come to garner regional and national awards and is recognized for demonstrating artistic excellence. In 2014, Mark handed the reigns to 1st Stage’s new Artistic Director, Alex Levy. Help us to honor Mark and the incredible, hard work he dedicated to the founding of Fairfax County’s first professional theater.
