Suburban Motel
June 11-July 3, 2010

A cult hit, this dark and screamingly funny cycle of plays introduces us to a pack of bizarre characters with a determined instinct to survive but without the capacity to think their way out of trouble, bad luck, and a seedy motel room. You'll be happy your life isn't as complicated and even happier that you have someone else's life to laugh at.

The Last Five Years
May 7 -23, 2010

Beautiful, arresting, sincere and intimate…this musical captures some of the most heart breaking and universally felt moments of falling in—and out—of love.

Humble Boy
March 26 - April 18, 2010

By Charlotte Jones

Young Felix Humble, a Cambridge astro-physicist, returns home following the death of his father and soon realizes that his search for unity in the universe must include his own chaotic life. Rich, original, intelligent, funny and touching, Charlotte Jones's comedy about broken vows, failed hopes, string theory, and bee-keeping ties all into a unified theory of everything.

MiRan Powell as Flora takes a scolding from Martha Karl as Mercy in the 1st Stage production of "Humble Boy". Looking on are Jeff Murray as George, Nevie Brooks as Rosie, and, in background, Matt Dewberry as Felix.

By the Bog of Cats
February 5 – 28, 2010

By Marina Carr
Director: Mark Krikstan

Heart-rending tragedy and uproarious comedy living in tandem.

In this loose retelling of Euripides' Medea, Marina Carr blends the mythic with the modern, populating her play with misfits, witches, and ghosts. Set in rural Ireland, this heart-rending tragedy and uproarious comedy live in tandem on the same breath.

The Prisoner of Zenda

December 12, 2009 – January 3, 2010

Rebellion, romance, a dead king, an evil prince, a surprised hero, and, of course, a beautiful princess!

This swashbuckling adventure will touch the hearts of the entire family. Impassioned, full-blooded, convincingly thunderous and delightfully tongue-in-cheek – there will be no better way to spend the holidays.

Zenda

Bette Cassatt and David Winkler in the drama “The Prisoner of Zenda”

Three Days of Rain
October 30 – November 22, 2009

Explore the architecture of the mind, body and soul.

Full of sharp and witty language, arresting images, complex characters, and deep insight, Three Days of Rain is an intellectual and emotional ride. It’s a tour-de-force for three actors as they play characters in the present day, as well as their parents three decades earlier, when three fateful days of rain changed everyone’s lives forever.

The play was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 1998.
